http://www.menzies-hotels.co.uk/hotels/derby/hotels-in-derby.aspx

[Please do not contact the hotel for event details, they won't have any!]

Who? The event will be run by the team you know from last year, all local Derby/Notts/Leics compers. We welcome compers from all over the country to meet up with old friends and make some new ones.

Why? We want a fun day for everyone who will be joining us. The more serious aim is to raise as much money as possible on the day for Rainbows East Midlands' Children's Hospice. One of our group works with Rainbows children and their families so the cause is very dear to all our hearts.

Raising for Rainbows is moving to a gorgeous new venue. It is run for compers by compers; in alphabetical order we are Claire, Di, Elaine, Julie, Marie, Pam and Vic. We anticipate there will be a strong demand for tickets so don't leave it too late as you may be disappointed.  We will keep you up to date on how ticket sales are going. If you're not applying straight away then we suggest emailing to check ticket availability.

This is also the address to which any enquiries about the event may be directed.

We've been sent a family ticket for Chatsworth House and Garden valid during the 2010 season. Obviously this will only have a couple of weeks to run after the event so we are doing a special prize draw. Anyone who gets their booking to us by Friday 19th February will, if they wish, be entered into a draw for the tickets. They are valid for one visit for 2 adults and 2 children but can only be used by the named person and are not to be sold on and cannot be exchanged so please make sure you will be able to use them if you enter our draw.

If you, or anyone on your booking form, would like to enter the ticket draw please put the initials CPD by the name of each person to go into the draw which will take place during the week beginning 22nd February. The lucky winner will be notified shortly afterwards.

Our website will be updated later so that you can check for information. Later on we will post up all those WONDERFUL prizes we have lined up for you thanks to our generous sponsors and donors!

Please bring LOTS of money on the day as we have a charity raffle with fantastic prizes. Every penny from the raffle will be donated to Rainbows' 'Building for the Future' fund. The appeal aims to raise at least £4 million in order to extend the bedroom area and build a new therapies and leisure complex including a family support lounge and training facilities. This will benefit all young people with a life

limiting condition using Rainbows Children's Hospice.

Once again we'll be collecting donations of books, CDs, DVDs and videos for the Derby Breathe Easy Support Group for local people with chronic lung conditions, a cause with which Pam is involved. Gifts can be new or second hand in good condition. Every donation gets you a ticket for a separate raffle so sort out your unread books, maybe a brand new CD that was an unwanted runner up prize and bring them along!

We're also bringing back the popular "Ask An Expert" session where you are invited to submit a question to our panel which will include some very well known compers who have been big winners for more years than they care to remember! Please submit your comping question along with your name on a separate sheet of paper together with your application for tickets. You can also email your question, along with your name, to the email address above by August 31st at the latest. No consideration will be given to questions arriving after that time. Every question, whether chosen or not, will go into a draw on the day with a small prize for the winner so it's essential each one is named! Your name won't be read out if your question is asked. Only the lucky

winner's name will be announced.

In addition to this the day will include table quizzes, spot prizes, games and one unmissable free ticket of “fun bingo.” Everyone gets a goody bag to take home. The goody bags will include some unusual items so please don't swap, give away or throw away anything until the end of the day; we'd hate you to miss out on a prize!

If you'd like to attend but will be on your own then please don't let it put you off, let us know on the form below. Last time we were able  to reserve a  table so that no one felt out of things and many people who arrived on their own made friends with others in the same situation.

Please note we will NOT be collecting gifts or toys for the Rainbows Charity Shops. Cash donations on the day to Rainbows would be more than welcome, should you wish.
